AN ONLINE COURSE OF 6 WEEKLY 2 HOURS SESSIONS – STARTING JANUARY 9TH, 2024

This program is designed to explore our biographical stories with the transformative power of clowning, supported by techniques of coaching.
Through meditation and reflection, we will establish a collaborative space, setting the stage for a shared journey of exploration and risk-taking. laying the groundwork for a unique path of self-discovery.
The session structure includes:
- meditation,
- check-ins,
- warm-ups,
- improvisation activities,
- reflecting on the experience through journaling,
- conversation fostering a dynamic and supportive environment,
- sharing insights and experiences.
“What is Clownching?” with Mery Miguez
Clownching is a collaborative process supported by the coach who creates a safe space for exploration through the art of clowning; and led by the participant who shares what is of importance to them in order to create the life they envision.
“What is Social Clowning?” with Vivian Gladwell
Social Clowning is the use of clowning and play as a way of revealing multiple ways of making sense of the stories we tell. The clown archetype touches on:
- Authenticity
- Vulnerability
- Empowerment
- Truth
- Courage
- Imagination
- Integrating our shadow
- Expressing needs
- Listening
- Self-expression
Our guiding question will be “What gets in the way of the life we want to live?”

FACILITATORS
Mery
Miguez
Mery Miguez is a Clownch, (a coach that uses clown techniques to help people get along with themselves), an arts facilitator, and a mindfulness coach. She is also a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner (with NLP Marin in California).
Her passion is to facilitate transformative learning experiences, where groups get in touch with their highest potential by accessing individual and collaborative creativity. In her experience, she finds that when we are able to tap into collective awareness in the present moment, as a society we are able to sense what wants to emerge in the next moment. The result of this is a profound trust in ourselves, others, and life.
Mery’s unique approach has been shaped by her lifelong journey to find the core from where we humans express the very best of ourselves. She loves finding ways to support people to open up to their gifts and be more of who they really are, she helps people become co-creators of the world they want to live in. Mery is convinced that as each of us finds our place in the puzzle of life, society becomes more whole.
In 2007 she met her first teacher of Clown, Giovanni Fusetti where she fell in love with the form. Later on she met Vivian Gladwell who is presently her mentor in teaching the art of clowning.
Mery Miguez now dedicates her life to helping bring clowns to live and for her this is the best job ever.

ivian Gladwell
Vivian is the founder and director of Nose to Nose and has given hundreds of workshops around the world. He lives both in the UK and France where he started clowning in 1978. He speaks French and English fluently.
Vivian began teaching in 1988 as part of the Lifeways Festival at Emerson College – UK. He trained as a facilitator with the Bataclown in 1990 and joined their team in 1991 also working as a modern day Court Jester (Clownanalyst).
He created Nose to Nose UK in 1990, Nose to Nose of North America in 2006 and Fool View, the Social Clowning group and has trained facilitators in the UK, the USA, Germany and Italy – view history.
He continues his role as ambassador for the work by researching the applications of clowning in the context of teacher training, medicine, conflict management, ecology and intercultural work in many countries (South Africa, USA, Senegal, Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Italy, Germany, Norway…)
He holds clowning as a social playground for exploring our humanity.
