THE COURAGE TO BE - Clown level 1

A series of 3 weekends in Oxford
19/20 Feb, 19/20 March and 16/17 April 2011

The word ‘courage’ comes from a root that means ‘heart’. Through clowning and connecting to our playful spirit we can develop and sustain, in ourselves and each other, the heart to be who we truly are, to trust life and ourselves. ‘Taking heart’ is a profoundly inward process, and an invitation to overcome the fears that block us from being fully present in the here and now. The first weekend can stand alone as an introduction to clowning, however priority booking will be given to those wishing to take the whole course of three weekends.
The full course establishes the ground for all our work and is an essential first step before going on to more advanced courses.
The work, and the group, will build over the three weekends, ending with an opportunity to establish a local and ongoing practice group for the remainder of the year.

The group size is limited to 12.

Facilitator: Sharon Usher.

Sharon has been teaching with Nose to Nose for over 10 years and is keen to establish an Oxford based ‘clowning community of practice’ to support peer development in the clowning work and to create opportunities for performance and social clowning in the area.

Cost : £135 per weekend or £375 for all 3 weekends if booked with deposit by January 14th 2011

To book: £100 non-returnable deposit for the 3 weekends, £40 deposit for a single weekend.
