Red Nose Clowning – An Introduction – One Sunday a month: Oct 29, Nov 19, Dec 10
Sunday October 29, 2017 - Sunday December 10, 2017

Red noseHow can we find courage when we feel unworthy or vulnerable?

How can we learn to celebrate our own and one another’s unique forms of inadequacy?

How can we feel some lightness and connection with others when life is hard and we feel so challenged?

We can look to the clown.

With the help of the tiny red mask, clowning is a state of possibility. It invites us to stand in the world in new and refreshing ways.

This workshop is not about tricks, gags, and routines. It’s about learning from what we meet when we slow down and listen to what’s present. What’s important is not “getting it right” or being clever, but rather the magic of being surprised by what reveals itself when all else falls away.

Through games and exercises, entrances and exits, self-observation and reflection we will explore what happens when we let go of reason, opening to the unknown, the illogical, and the absurd.

Bring just your self, your lunch and your open heart*.

*Caution: Clowning may be habit forming. Side effects may include joy, self-discovery, liberation and laughter.
