Holding Ourselves “Aclownable” – Clowning as Radical Self Acceptance and a Gateway to Greater Joy – A One Day Workshop with Laura Geilen
Sunday January 27, 2019

Let’s face it – sometimes we just can’t keep all the balls in the air.

How can we learn to accept – even celebrate – our mishaps and inadequacies?

How can we bring lightness and connection into our lives alongside the constant need to “show up”?

We can look to the clown.

Honoring the truth of human fumbling, clowning becomes a state full of new possibility. It invites us to stand in the world in more authentic and refreshing ways.

It’s not about tricks, gags, and routines. It’s about learning from what we meet when we stop and listen to what’s most present. What’s important is not “getting it right” or “being clever”, but rather the magic of being surprised by what can reveal itself when all else falls away…

Through movement, play, entrances, exits, being and reflecting, we will explore what happens when we let go of reason and judgment and embrace the unknown, the illogical, and the absurd.  Just bring yourself and a lunch*.

Space is limited. Registration is required.

Venue: Berkcirque, 150 Gas House Lane, Great Barrington, MA

Fee: $75 pp
